Letter to the editor: The Sun was wrong to print picture of man in standoff
I am compelled to voice my opinion as I feel it was very distasteful of The Jamestown Sun in its Nov. 10 issue to publish a picture of a man with a gun to his head while he was contemplating suicide.By: Carol Stahlhut, The Jamestown Sun
I am compelled to voice my opinion as I feel it was very distasteful of The Jamestown Sun in its Nov. 10 issue to publish a picture of a man with a gun to his head while he was contemplating suicide.
It is one thing to publish the story of the standoff but to visually show this act was uncalled for. This type of picture is not what I want my children who read the newspaper in school to see, nor I as an adult.
A person’s mental state of mind is a personal item and should not be exploited this way by any news media.
