The North Dakota Highway Patrol, Southeast Region, will conduct a saturation patrol of Stutsman, Foster, and LaMoure counties on Friday and Saturday.
In 2011 there have been 100 fatal crashes resulting in 111 deaths statewide; of those crashes 57 have been alcohol related, the patrol said. The use of alcohol is the largest contributing factor in fatality crashes.
The purpose of the saturation is to deter and detect impaired drivers, and remove them from the roadways. Troopers will be out on days off and working overtime shifts in order to patrol our state’s roadways and make them safer.
