Two more hybrid buses in Fargo fleet

The city of Fargo is adding two hybrid buses to its transit fleet with the help of a $1 million federal grant.

FARGO (AP) — The city of Fargo is adding two hybrid buses to its transit fleet with the help of a $1 million federal grant.

The new buses that run on electricity and diesel fuel will replace conventional buses used by the transit system that serves Fargo, West Fargo, and the Minnesota communities of Moorhead and Dilworth. The money is through the Federal Transit Administration, which is funding 46 such projects around the country.

Fargo’s transit system already has two hybrid buses in its 26-vehicle fleet. It also uses two hybrid buses in its paratransit service, and expects to add two more.
