Minot police chief Jeff Balentine retiring

The chief of police in Minot is retiring.

MINOT, N.D. (AP) — The chief of police in Minot is retiring.

In a news release, the Minot Police Department says Jeff Balentine is retiring after serving more than five years as chief.

His last day is scheduled for April 12 of next year.

Balentine has served as a police officer with the city since 1981.

The city of Minot will begin the process of selecting a new police chief in January.
