BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — The man who has spent more time in a helicopter than any other aviator in the history of the North Dakota Army National Guard has retired.
The Guard says Chief Warrant Officer 5 Ron Doll was on flight status for the last 33 years of his 40-year military career, and flew with every helicopter pilot assigned to the state during his tenure. The Dawson native amassed 9,350 flight hours. He had served as the Guard's senior aviation safety officer since 1994.
A retirement ceremony was held in Bismarck on Tuesday.
