MINOT (AP) — A flood-displaced Minot couple opened its FEMA trailer for the 2011 Holiday Tour of Homes on Saturday.
The Minot Daily News reported that Andrew and Dani Solsvig wanted people to know that Christmas can be Christmas — even in a FEMA trailer.
Dani Solsvig said the couple always decorate for Christmas and she didn’t want the tradition to stop because they’re living in a trailer next to their flooded home.
She said they also like their cozy little home and wanted people to see that it isn’t all that bad. She said it’s nice to have a home instead of living out of a suitcase as they had to do following the flood.
Solsvig said she used items she had on hand and decorations from a local store.
