The Jamestown Fire Department and the Stutsman County Sheriff’s Office continued searching for a missing man Tuesday.
Darrin Ackermann, 49, of Jamestown, was reported missing after not returning from an ice fishing excursion Sunday.
Efforts today utilized underwater cameras placed through holes drilled in the ice in about a 6-foot grid pattern, according to Jim Reuther, Jamestown fire chief.
“The visibility is about 6 feet underwater,” he said. “They are checking to make sure they can see the camera in the next hole so that we know we are viewing every inch of the area.”
In addition, Kaiser said sheriff’s office staff and special deputies were continuing a search on land adjacent to the lake. They planned to extend the search to the area on the opposite side of the reservoir in the afternoon.
Divers searched Monday in the area around a thin spot in the ice near Ackermann’s fish house without results.
