Normal electricity use resumes in Bismarck-Mandan
Montana-Dakota Utilities says its Heskett Unit 2 power plant north of Mandan is back online while repairs continue on another unit and a substation to fix problems with electrical transformers.
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — Montana-Dakota Utilities says its Heskett Unit 2 power plant north of Mandan is back online while repairs continue on another unit and a substation to fix problems with electrical transformers.
The problems led to power flickers in the Bismarck-Mandan area on Monday night. There were no long-term power outages but customers were asked to reduce energy use on Tuesday. The Bismarck Tribune reports that buildings on the state Capitol grounds and Bismarck's water treatment plant went to backup generators, and Mandan's water plant shut down early.
The company said early Wednesday that normal electricity use could resume.
