Letter to the editor: JSDC should try to spend money in city limits

The Jamestown/Stutsman Development Corp. wants to get rid of some money one way or another.

The Jamestown/Stutsman Development Corp. wants to get rid of some money one way or another. Why not do something for the people of Jamestown and not always for out of town? All they want is money handed to them. As for Great River Energy, they will not start the plant until there will be some place to sell the power and steam, which may never happen. If the plant can’t see a big profit to be made, things will never move ahead. I just think JSDC CEO Connie Ova should do more research on this. John Grabinger was right when he said GRE already said it would not seek economic development funds. I think all the taxpayers better start to think what the JSDC is doing with that money. It could be used to upgrade sewer and water lines and not have special taxes for everything.
