Class B roundup: No. 5 LaMoure stays unbeaten

Fifth-ranked LaMoure remained unbeaten at 4-0 with another strong defensive effort in a 60-47 win over Linton-Hazelton-Moffit-Braddock on Tuesday night.

Fifth-ranked LaMoure remained unbeaten at 4-0 with another strong defensive effort in a 60-47 win over Linton-Hazelton-Moffit-Braddock on Tuesday night.

The Loboes pulled away in the third quarter, outscoring the Lions, 19-13 after leading 23-19 at the break.

Skylar Shockman and Zach Stemen led a balanced LaMoure attack with 13 points each. Brady and Tyler Thielges added 11.

Ryan Dralle carried the load for the Lions with 17 points as they continue to play without standout senior Tanner Purintun, who remains out after suffering a knee injury late in the football season.

Dakota Prairie and New Rockford-Sheyenne needed two extra frames to settle it, but the Knights outscored the Rockets 7-5 in the second overtime to escape with a 67-65 victory Tuesday night.

The Rockets led 36-30 at halftime, but the Knights were in front after three. It was tied 56-56 after four quarters and 60-60 after one OT.

Eli Kueber led the Knights with 22 points, but got plenty of help from Bryce Messner (18 points) and Dylan Gillett (16).

Mason Haley continued his hot shooting, pouring in a game-high 29 points for the Rockets. Chance LaBrie added 11.
