Security company leaving airport

DICKINSON, N.D. (AP) — The company that has provided armed security at Dickinson’s airport since 2003 is ending the service at the end of the month.
Alpha 6 owner Darcy Fossum said the company can make a lot more money providing security at other venues, such as wedding dances, where guards don’t even have to carry a gun. Fossum said the company also is finding a lot of work with energy companies in the Williston area.
Transportation Security Administration spokeswoman Carrie Harmon told The Dickinson Press that some safety requirements can be met either through a private contractor or in partnership with local law enforcement, and that TSA works closely with airports to ensure that all security requirements are met.
