MINOT, N.D. (AP) — A second charge has been filed against one of two men accused of threatening two people with a gun while driving on a North Dakota Indian reservation.
Thirty-two-year-old Jeremy Shelton and 29-year-old John Beard, both of Eufaula, Okla., were originally charged with terrorizing. They pleaded not guilty.
Authorities on Friday charged Shelton with possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon.
Police say the incident happened in the early evening hours of Oct. 2, after the suspects allegedly pulled alongside a 24-year-old man and 28-year-old woman who were driving on a highway west of New Town.
Authorities recovered a pistol and shotgun at the scene.
