North Dakota flood disaster aid nears $450 million

Federal and state disaster aid doled out in the wake of major flooding in North Dakota has reached nearly $450 million.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — Federal and state disaster aid doled out in the wake of major flooding in North Dakota has reached nearly $450 million.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency also says more than 1,900 families are now living in temporary housing the agency has set up.

Of the $446 million in aid, federal officials say more than $103 million has been obligated for 2,029 projects to repair roads, bridges, schools and other infrastructure.

The U.S. Small Business Administration says it has approved more than $244 million in low-interest disaster loans to people and businesses.
