DEVILS LAKE, N.D. (AP) — Officials said regular air service is returning to Devils Lake, thanks to a deal with a new airline.
North Dakota’s congressional delegation and Gov. Jack Dalrymple announced Saturday that Great Lakes Airlines should be ready to take over air service in January.
Devils Lake has had limited air service since Dec. 1, when Delta Air Lines switched from turboprop aircraft to regional jets. The airport’s runway is not long enough for the jets to land in windy weather. In those cases, Delta has been landing in Grand Forks and bussing passengers to Devils Lake.
Sen. John Hoeven told the Grand Forks Herald he hopes to get a definitive start date from Great Lakes later this week.
