Brand renewal period ending

North Dakota ranchers who haven’t renewed their brands are running out of time.

BISMARCK (AP) — North Dakota ranchers who haven’t renewed their brands are running out of time.

State law requires brands to be renewed every five years. The North Dakota Stockmen’s Association said many ranchers completed that task before the most recent brand renewal period ended in December 2010, and for those who didn’t a one-year grace period is coming to an end at the close of the month.

On Jan. 1, expired brands will be eligible for others to register.
