North Dakota topples Harvard

Danny Kristo scored two of North Dakota’s four first-period goals and North Dakota went on to rout Harvard 7-3 Saturday in men’s college hockey.

GRAND FORKS (AP) — Danny Kristo scored two of North Dakota’s four first-period goals and North Dakota went on to rout Harvard 7-3 Saturday in men’s college hockey.

Kristo also added an assist to become one of three different UND players with three points.

Connor Gaarder had a goal and two assists and Joe Gleason assisted on three goals.

Harvard (4-4-4) got goals from Alex Killom and Eric Kroshus in the first period but still trailed 4-2. Brendan O’Donnell and Gaarder chipped in goals to go with two by Kristo.

Mark MacMillan, Michael Parks and Brock Nelson had goals for UND (10-8-2).

Aaron Dell had 29 saves against the Crimson, which outshot UND 32-25.

Luke Griener had the Crimson’s other goal early in the third period.

Steve Michalek made 17 saves for Harvard but was replaced to start the third period by Raphael Girard, who had one save.
