ND's Morton County mulls hiring planner

Morton County is looking into a hiring a planner.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — Morton County is looking into a hiring a planner.

The Bismarck Tribune reports that planning duties had been handled by the county's auditor who retired in April.

Commissioner Andy Zachmeier sas hiring a planner could cost up to $60,000. He says the cost might increase if a new office and secretary are added.

Officials also will consider sharing planners with Mandan or contracting with an engineering firm.
