California man wins card tournament

A California man who came to Minot in 2011 to help remodel flooded homes is North Dakota’s newest Texas Hold “Em champion The Minot Daily News reported that Jeremy Keillor, of Santa Clara, Calif., outlasted a record 1,851 players at the North Dakota State Championship Poker Tournament held at the Vegas Motel.

The Minot Daily News reported that Jeremy Keillor, of Santa Clara, Calif., outlasted a record 1,851 players at the North Dakota State Championship Poker Tournament held at the Vegas Motel.

Keillor’s first-place finish was worth $42,500.

Runner-up Jeffery Thomas, of Columbus, Mont., earned $19,000. Virgil Olson, of Fort Ransom, N.D., took third to win $13,000, while Jason Conley of Minot took fourth to win $9,000. Fifth place went to Dale Zaun, of Fingal, N.D., who won $7,500.
