California man wins card tournament

The Minot Daily News reported that Jeremy Keillor, of Santa Clara, Calif., outlasted a record 1,851 players at the North Dakota State Championship Poker Tournament held at the Vegas Motel.

Keillor’s first-place finish was worth $42,500.

Runner-up Jeffery Thomas, of Columbus, Mont., earned $19,000. Virgil Olson, of Fort Ransom, N.D., took third to win $13,000, while Jason Conley of Minot took fourth to win $9,000. Fifth place went to Dale Zaun, of Fingal, N.D., who won $7,500.
