Man dies after car crashes through ice
One man has died after the car he was a passenger in crashed through ice and became submerged in water in northern North Dakota.
TOLLEY, N.D. (AP) — One man has died after the car he was a passenger in crashed through ice and became submerged in water in northern North Dakota.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol said the man and the woman driver were traveling down a closed roadway into an area covered with floodwater near Tolley Thursday around 1:30 a.m. when the vehicle broke through ice and became submerged.
The man and woman were able to exit and climb to the top of the vehicle, but the man died of undetermined causes at the scene.
Emergency workers rescued the woman at 2:30 p.m.
Officials have not released the names of the man and woman pending further investigation.
