This week’s North Dakota Class A basketball polls compiled by the North Dakota Associated Press Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association. Each team is followed by first-place votes In parentheses, records, total points and previous ranking.
Blue Jays drop out of top 5
The Blue Jays have dropped out of the latest Class A boys’ basketball poll, but they have a chance to play themselves back in.
After two straight losses, Jamestown High School fell out of the top 5 after rising to No. 3 last week. Still the Blue Jays (8-4) host No. 2 Bismarck (9-2) on Saturday in a key West Region clash.
Unbeaten Grand Forks Red River is ranked No. 1 in the boys’ poll.
Wahpeton and Mandan got back into the top 5 after dropping out.
The same five teams remain in the girls’ rankings. The only change is Mandan and Fargo flipped spots and are now No. 3 and 4.
