Barnick seen, but not heard on ‘Idol’

Millions of “American Idol” viewers caught a glimpse of Jamestown’s premier vocal talent last night, even though they never heard a note.

Alexis Barnick was shown on national TV receiving her golden ticket towards the end of the program — though “American Idol” producers declined to show her winning audition.

“They showed her multiple times throughout the evening,” said her mother Lisa Barnick.

That ticket guaranteed the 20-year-old Jamestown College junior an audition in Hollywood, but her mother is skeptical as to whether Alexis will make it on TV again.

Regardless of the outcome in Hollywood the family considers her an Idol, Lisa said.

“We’re extremely proud of her hard work and everything she went through to get this far,” she said.
