JC, JHS Saturday recap

The JC basketball teams swept Mayville State Saturday night, while the Blue Jay cage dwellers earned a split with Bismarck, with the girls winning and boys falling in a close one.

The JC basketball teams swept Mayville State Saturday night, while the Blue Jay cagers earned a split with Bismarck, with the girls winning and boys falling in a close one.

The JC men topped the Comets 66-51, while the women won shootout style, 101-82.

The JHS girls topped Bismarck 59-57, while Dexter Werner had 27 points and 25 rebounds as BHS earned the split, 80-70 over the Blue Jay lads.

Elsewhere, Aleona Reyes set a new indoor record at the Cobber Fieldhouse in the mile to lead the JC tracksters in Moorhead.

The JHS boys' hockey (6-2 over Hazen-Beulah) and the girls' hockey (5-1 v. Williston) clubs earned a Wilson Arena sweep.

The JHS gymnastics team piled up a season-best 143.150 in a dual win over Grand Forks on Saturday.
