VC’s lone theater closing Thursday

The lone movie theater in Valley City is closing. Owner Wayne Loberg, who is retiring, plans to shut down The Theater I & II on Thursday, after nearly three decades of working there. The theater has been up for sale since mid-October.

VALLEY CITY, N.D. (AP) — The lone movie theater in Valley City is closing.

Owner Wayne Loberg, who is retiring, plans to shut down The Theater I & II on Thursday, after nearly three decades of working there. The theater has been up for sale since mid-October.

Loberg told the Valley City Times-Record that the economics of the theater business have made continued operations unfeasible.
