Lions hold off Clippers to prevent upset

Second-seeded Linton-Hazelton-Moffit-Braddock held off an upset bid from Strasburg-Zeeland to advance to the semifinals of the District 6 tournament in Wishek.
Ryan Dralle led four Lions in double figures as they prevailed over the Clippers, 66-63. Tanner Purintun added 15 and Brooks Flyberg 14.
The Clippers got 17 points from Kyle Nieuwsma and 15 from Chance Kurle as they stayed in it all the way.
South Border rolled in the opening game of the tournament as they held Kidder County to 29 points in a 20-point triumph.
Michael Jacobson (18) and Phillip Wanner (15) combined for 33 points for the Mustangs, who face top-seeded Napoleon tonight.

The top-ranked Cardinals didn’t have any trouble with Griggs County Central as Carrington held the Cougars to just nine points in the opening half en route to an 80-28 victory.
Emily Thompson led four Cardinals in double digits with 19 points as they outscored GCC 38-9 in the first half.
Megan Beattie led the Cougars in scoring with 11 points.
