A 5-year-old Jamestown boy was taken to Jamestown Regional Medical Center following a Feb. 2 accident, according to the Jamestown Police Department.

The accident happened at about 8 a.m. on the 900 block of 10th Street Northeast.

Tylor Dwelle, 30, 733 11th St. NE #2, was driving a 2010 Chevrolet passenger car east on the 900 block of 10th Street.

As Dwelle crossed the intersection of 10th Street and James Avenue, the boy tried to cross the street and struck the Chevrolet’s rear driver’s-side door.

Dwelle said there were lots of children on both sides of the street waiting for the school bus and the police report said there was dense fog.

One witness said he saw the child cross the road without checking for traffic.

The child was transported to JRMC by ambulance for an apparent leg injury.

Dwelle was wearing a seat belt.

There was no damage to the Chevrolet.
