Tabernacle Society to focus on prayer

The public is invited to join the Basilica of St. James Tabernacle Society at 7 p.m. Monday for its monthly spiritual program.

Monsignor Dennis Skonseng will speak about the principles and practice of prayer. He has extensive experience in spiritual direction and will share many ideas on how to further nurture and develop a personal prayer life, especially during Lent.

Skonseng was ordained a priest in 1982. He has served the Diocese of Fargo as associate pastor and pastor in several parishes, formation director and spiritual director of Cardinal Muench Seminary, and vicar general and vicar for clergy.

He has a master’s degree in Christian spirituality and a certificate in spiritual direction from Creighton University in Omaha. He has been spiritual director for seminarians in The Institute for Priestly Formation in Omaha. He is currently pastor of St. Catherine’s Church in Valley City.

All are welcome to attend with refreshments to follow in the parish center.
