Wahpeton project gets paving award

The North Dakota Ready Mix and Concrete Products Association selected the Dakota Avenue (N.D. Highway 13) Pavement Reconstruction Project in Wahpeton as the winner of the 2011 Gold Star Award in the Street Paving category. The Gold Star awards honor industry partners for accomplishments in concrete design and construction.

The Gold Star awards honor industry partners for accomplishments in concrete design and construction.

The North Dakota Department of Transportation and the city of Wahpeton were the owners of the $8.1 million project, which included five lanes of concrete paving, major watermains, an interceptor sanitary sewer, storm sewer, sidewalks, traffic signals and lighting.

Duininck, Inc. of Prinsburg, Minn., was the primary contractor for the project, while Interstate Engineering, Inc., headquartered in Jamestown, provided the design engineering as well as the construction engineering.
