BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota's congressional delegation says $340,500 in federal grant money will help with housing issues in the state.

The money was appropriated by Congress and is being doled out by the nonprofit NeighborWorks America. It's going to CommunityWorks ND, which promotes affordable housing.

Housing is at a premium in North Dakota because of flooding and the booming oil patch. Sens. Kent Conrad and John Hoeven and Rep. Rick Berg say $150,000 of the NeighborWorks America money will go toward housing in Minot, which was devastated by Souris River flooding last year. Another $100,000 will go into an affordable housing revolving loan fund. The rest will cover operating expenses.
