BELLE FOURCHE, S.D (AP) — About 50 runners gathered Saturday to participate in a run that paid tribute to Sherry Arnold, the missing Montana teacher who disappeared after going for a run last month.

The Rapid City Journal reported that runs were held in Belle Fourche, S.D., and Spearfish, S.D., by two of Arnold’s former students to raise money for a memorial and scholarship for Arnold’s children. The two runs raised more $550.

Arnold disappeared during a Saturday morning run in Sydney, Mont., on Jan. 7. Her body has not been found, and authorities have released few details.

Two men, 22-year-old Michael Spell and 47-year-old Lester Waters, Jr., are being held in North Dakota in connection with Arnold’s disappearance. An extradition hearing for the two men is scheduled for this week.
