Class B roundup: Indians hold off Langdon

Four Winds-Warwick-Minnewaukan held off a late rally by Langdon to win a close one, 52-50 Tuesday night in Class B girls’ basketball action.

After a slow start, it picked up late as Langdon scored 25 points in the final frame, but the Indians led 32-25 entering the fourth. The Indians scored 39 of their 52 points in the second half.

Dorothia Santos led the Indians with 20 points. Tesha Teel added 14.

Madison Hart’s 21 points led all scorers for the Cardinals.

Strasburg-Zeeland led 15-7 after one quarter and had it their way all night en route to a win over Litchville-Marion-Montpelier.

Jennifer Wikenheiser pumped in 20 points for the Clippers, who won for the fifth time against 13 defeats. Courtney Bubach followed with 13 in the win.

Sydney Headland had 12 of the Rebels’ 34 points.

Jessica Meland had 11 points to lead the Hornets.

Napoleon improved to 14-4 with a tidy 70-47 win over Barnes County North at North Central.

Kendra Weigel and Sheridon Dewald combined for 40 points for the Imperials with 21 and 19, respectively. Mariah Jangula added 13 for the Imperials, who scored at least 16 points in every quarter.

Emily Albrecht splashed in four three-pointers for the Bison, en route to a team-high 19 points.

Ellendale used a 20-point second quarter to build a healthy lead and notch a District 5 win over Edgeley-Kulm.

It was 9-8 after one quarter, but the Cardinals outscored the Rebels 20-8 in the second eight minutes.

Brianna Vance and Shayna Mertz had matching 15-point performance to lead the Cardinals. Madi Bommersbach chipped in with 11.

Kelsey Feist and Kaitlin Ost topped the Rebels with nine points apiece.
