Comedy
“The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged),” a comedy presented by Jamestown College Theatre, is at 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday in DeNault Auditorium, Reiland Fine Arts Center, Jamestown College. Jamestown College faculty organ recital is at 3 p.m. Sunday in Voorhees Chapel on the campus on Jamestown College. There is no admission cost.
A jam session with the Whoever Can Come Band is at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Barnes County Historical Society, 315 Central Ave. N, Valley City. There is no admission charge.
“Barefoot in the Park,” a comedy dinner theater by 2nd ACT Community Theater, is at 6 p.m. March 1-3 at the Quality Inn banquet room. Tickets are available only in advance at the Arts Center. Tickets are $20 for Arts Center members and $25 for others. Tickets can be purchased by calling 251-2491.
Jamestown Community Open Mic is at 7 p.m. every fourth Tuesday at Grace Episcopal Church, 405 Second Ave. NE. All performers are welcome.
Around Town
Wood carving with a local wood carving group is from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursdays in the Arts Center’s Hansen Studio. There is no charge. Call Andy Kudrna at 320-5075 with questions.
Open swimming is from 1 to 4 p.m. Sundays and 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesdays at the Jamestown High School Pool. Those under 12 must be accompanied by a parent. There is no admission charge.
Public skating is from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Wilson Arena. Cost is $2 for children, $3 for adults and $5 for families and rentals are $2. Outdoor rinks at McElroy, Meidiner, Nickeus, and Leapaldt parks are open from 3:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday– Friday, noon to 8 p.m. Saturday, and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday. There is no admission.

“Food Staples Around the World,” a lecture by Sharon Buhr, is at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Barnes County Museum, 315 Central Ave. N, Valley City. There is no admission cost.
“The Zodiac,” a planetarium show is at 2 p.m. Saturday in room 310 at the Rhoades Science Center on the campus of Valley City State University. There is no admission charge.
The former Harlem Globetrotters vs. the Stutsman County Sheriff’s reserves and volunteer Jamestown firefighters basketball game is at noon on Saturday, Feb. 25, at the Jamestown Civic Center. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. One ticket is good for admission for two children under 12. Tickets can be purchased at the Civic Center, Hugo’s and both Stop N’ Go locations.

National Buffalo Museum hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday by appointment only. Admission: $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and AAA members, $10 for a family and $1 for children ages 6 to 18.
Alfred Dickey Library hours are 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday. To access the Story Line, call 252-7464. The library is located at 105 Third St. SE.
Stutsman County Library hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The library is located at 910 Fifth St. S.E.
The Arts Center, 213 Second Ave. NW, Jamestown, is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and by appointment Sunday. There is no admission charge.
The Putnam House in Carrington is open for special events and by appointment by calling 701-652-2090. There is no admission charge.
The Barnes County Historical Museum, 315 Central Ave. N., Valley City, is open year round from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Admission is a freewill donation.
The Ronald Reagan Minuteman Missile Historic Site near Cooperstown is open by appointment only for the winter season. Contact Mark Sundlov at 701-797-3691 for more information.

A Poem Lovely as a Tree — how to make your words sing, a writing class with B.J. Buckley, is at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Hansen Arts Studio. Cost is $5 for Arts Center members and $7 for others. For more information, call the Arts Center at 251-2496.
Poetry Flash Mob, a class for children with B.J. Buckley, is at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Buffalo Mall. There is no admission charge.
Gladys Misialek’s art is on display at Unison Bank for the month of February. Unison features a new artist is its lobby each month.
