GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — A Grand Forks hospital is planning a major expansion and renovation project that includes purchasing another hospital in the city that has yet to open.
Altru Health Systems officials would not release financial details about the project, including the price tag on the new Doctors Hospital that planned to open in March.
The company says 41 new medical positions will be added this year.
The plans include replacing the current Altru Hospital in three phases, to be completed by 2020. The main clinic facility would be replaced in 2022.
Altru CEO Dave Molmen tells the Grand Forks Herald the expansion is fueled by recent “unprecedented” growth for the company.
