JHS show choir performs for Rotary
Jamestown High School show choir “Blue Jazz” performed for the Rotary’s Valentine luncheon on Feb. 14. The musical group of 15 member sang a variety of love songs for this special occasion. Blue Jazz recently earned first place at the Northern State University Jazz Festival.

Sergeant-at-arms Blaine Bergstadt took a special collection for the Rotary International Polio Plus Program. Invocation was giving by Doug Panchot and President Doug Frohlich presided over the meeting. Frohlich reminded the members of the upcoming District Conference April 12-14 in Cloquet, Minn.
Members were also reminded to mark April 19 on their calendars for the Wine/Brew HA, HA tasting event at the Gladstone Inn & Suites. Tickets will be coming shortly. This will be an evening with hors d’oeuvres and a silent auction. Funds raised will go to the Rotary charities including Camp Rokiwan and the Rotary Soccer Field.
Jamestown High School student guests were Matt Kopp and Alison Allmer. Kopp is a senior at JHS and is the son of Craig and Cheri Kopp. He is involved in Student Council, FBLA National Honor Society, SADD, Lifesmarts, football and track and field. He plans on attending the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, upon graduation and then attend law school. Allmer is a junior at JHS and the daughter of Angie and Mike Allmer. She is involved in Student Council, SADD, NHS, Future Business Leaders of America, cross country, gymnastics, track and her church. Upon graduation she hopes to major in pre-physical therapy.
Today’s meeting speaker will be Duane Dunn, invocation will be by Steve Listopad, Gary Riffe will lead in singing and Jason Bitz is to be sergeant-at-arms.
