Cardinals, Thunder play in region finals tonight

Napoleon and Linton-Hazelton-Moffit-Braddock will meet for a spot in the state tournament in Jamestown tonight, but two other teams also have everything on the line tonight.

Carrington faces the toughest task of anybody as they square off with No. 1 and unbeaten North Star in the Region 4 title clash in Devils Lake

The Cardinals are hot. They’ve won five straight postseason games, including taking the District 7 championship. They carry a 16-8 record into tonight’s showdown.

The two teams meet back on Jan. 28 in Cando with North Star rolling, 81-51.

Hatton-Northwood is also one win from state.

The 10th-ranked Thunder (19-5) has a top 10 showdown waiting at the Region 2 Tournament title tilt in Grand Forks against No. 6 Grafton (22-2).

The state B is set for March 1-3 in Grand Forks.
