GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — Two players on North Dakota's top-ranked high school boys' basketball team and the head coach are being disciplined for locker room damage after the team lost its first game of the season.
Wahpeton beat Grand Forks Red River 62-61 on a last-second 3-pointer Tuesday night in Wahpeton. Officials say damage in the visiting locker room after the game included a light fixture and a shower hand railing.
Grand Forks athletic director Todd Olson says one player will miss half a game and another player a full game during the first round of the East Region tournament next week. They also wrote letters of apology and must pay for repairs.
Red River head coach Jason Gregory says the athletes must be held accountable. Gregory also is getting a letter of reprimand.
