Bond set in attempted robbery in Grand Forks

Bond has been set at $7,500 for a Minnesota man accused of trying to rob a Burger King restaurant across the North Dakota border in Grand Forks.

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — Bond has been set at $7,500 for a Minnesota man accused of trying to rob a Burger King restaurant across the North Dakota border in Grand Forks.

WDAZ-TV reports that 22-year-old Drew Smith of Ada, Minn., is due back in court April 16 on charges of attempted robbery, terrorizing and simple assault.

Authorities allege that an unarmed Smith tried to rob the fast-food restaurant on Feb. 18 but was detained by two employees, both of whom suffered minor injuries in the scuffle.
