Two Jamestown High School girls’ hockey players have been named to the all-state team.

Forward Amber Schaack and Mataya Olson, the team’s top defender, were each named to the first team.

Schaack piled up 48 points for the Blue Jays this season, including 35 goals, the last of which was the game-winner in overtime to lift them to a 3-2 win over Minot in the consolation game at the state tournament in Grand Forks on Saturday.

Schaack, a junior, also had 13 assists and was seventh in the state in scoring. She was also named to the all-tournament team, one of just six players to earn the award.

Olson, a senior, had 23 points from her spot on the blue line. She had 11 goals and 12 assists.

The two all-staters helped JHS to its first two wins at the state tournament and an overall record of 13-12-1. It’s the first time the team has won as many games and finished above the .500 mark.
