Carrington captures District 7

Carrington continued its dominance of District 7 by sailing past Lakota-Adams-Edmore on Monday night at Fort Totten. The Cardinals limited Lakota-Adams-Edmore to 26 points over the final three quarters before closing out the victory, 62-38.

Carrington continued its dominance of District 7 by sailing past Lakota-Adams-Edmore on Monday night at Fort Totten.

The Cardinals limited Lakota-Adams-Edmore to 26 points over the final three quarters before closing out the victory, 62-38.

Emily Thompson topped the Cardinals (21-1) with 22 points, while Sierra Rosenau added 16 for the top-ranked girls’ team in Class B.

Fallyn Freije led all scorers in the game with 23 points for Lakota-Adams-Edmore.

In region-qualifying action, Midkota and New Rockford-Sheyenne kept its seasons alive with wins at Four Winds High School.

Shaye Ronningen and Emily Berge combined for 32 points as Midkota held off Harvey-Wells County, 52-45.

Ronningen had a game-best 20 points and Berge 12.

Jessica Meland (18) and Haley Fornshell (13) were in double figures for the Hornets.

The Rockets had 21 points in the first and third quarters and toppled the host Indians, 64-48.

Taryn Jacob led the Rockets with 18 points and Ashley Ystaas added 10.

Latisha Teel topped the Indians with 17.

Linton-Hazelton-Moffit-Braddock led after every quarter and went on to beat Napoleon 62-53 in the championship game of the District 6 tournament in Hazelton.

Kalyn Schneider led three Lions in double figures with 17 points. McKenna Flyberg was right behind with 16 points.

Sheridon Dewald had a game-high 20 points in the loss for Napoleon.

South Border outscored Kidder County 19-3 in the third quarter and that was the difference as the Mustangs took third over the Pirates, 51-46.

Kaylee Ketterling had 20 of the Mustangs’ 51 points in the win.

Sam Rangeloff led the Pirates with 17 points.

Taylor and Kennedy Henningsgard combined for 48 points to help Central Valley defeat Thompson 65-57 in the District 3 title game in Mayville.

Taylor led the way with 28 points while Kennedy added 20 in the win.

McKenna DeMoe topped the Tommies with 15 points.

Steph Iverson accounted for 22 points as Hatton-Northwood edged Dakota Prairie 63-57 in overtime in a region qualifier.

The Thunder outscored the Knights 7-1 in overtime.

Brandy Messner led the Knights with 22 points and 18 rebounds.

May-Port-C-G got the other bid in District 3, beating Larimore 44-38 as Kari Ust had 16 points in the win.
