Fed spending on ND flood repairs tops $200 million

Federal funding for public infrastructure repairs made necessary by flooding last year has surpassed $200 million in North Dakota.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — Federal funding for public infrastructure repairs made necessary by flooding last year has surpassed $200 million in North Dakota.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency pays 90 percent of eligible costs, with the rest falling to the state and local governments or to nonprofits that get help. FEMA says it has doled out $201.7 million so far to 3,553 infrastructure projects in the state.

The most money — just under $80 million — is for roads and bridges.
