Bismarck-area riverboat to operate by late spring

The operator of the Lewis and Clark Riverboat on the Missouri River in the Bismarck area says it should be up and running again by late spring.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — The operator of the Lewis and Clark Riverboat on the Missouri River in the Bismarck area says it should be up and running again by late spring.

The riverboat owned by the Fort Lincoln Foundation was hampered by flooding last year. Foundation Executive Director Tracy Potter tells North Dakota Public Radio that it meant a year with expenses but no income.

Potter says the riverboat has some things to overcome, including a silted-over bay and a damaged dock. But he says the riverboat that attracts about 15,000 passengers in a normal year should be operating by Memorial Day.
