Taz wrestlers compete in meets

Colton and Paxton Mewes of the Jamestown Taz wrestling team each earned first-place honors at both the Bismarck Gorillas wrestling tournament on Feb. 25 and at the Carrington Pitcrew tournament Feb. 26.

Ian Ford was the other top-place winner for Jamestown at the Gorillas meet, which featured over 450 wrestlers. Jamestown sent 23 wrestlers to Bismarck.

Diontrea Anderson and Joel Bowman earned runner-up honors, while Brandon Dallmann, Dawson Denning, Ethan Bowman, Jared Harr, Jaxson Parlett and Louis Kjellberg-Jones each placed second.

Fourth-place finishers were Ben Matzke, Kane Barnick, Luke Schlepuetz, Sam Schlepuetz, Preston Dockter and Lykken Parlett.

Bryson Amyotte, Chase Waldie, Cooper Anderson, Caden Eslick, Brant Fields and Jarron Waldie placed fifth.

In Carrington, Daulton Darby and Jackson Walters came in second, while Ethan and Preston Gall placed fourth.
