In the Jamestown branches, a silent auction was held the week of Feb. 6, which raised $300. A bake sale was also held the week of Feb. 13 and raised $105. Proceeds collected from employees wearing jeans on Fridays were also donated to the American Red Cross. Approximately $2,000 was collectively raised across all of FCCU’s 14 branches.
American Red Cross Hero Cards can also be purchased for $1 at all branches starting March 1 with proceeds supporting the Red Cross.
“I was very excited to hear that the employees of FCCU chose the American Red Cross as a charity that they wanted to support,” said Kelly Heyer, board chair of the Buffalo Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross and vice president of lending at FCCU. “The Red Cross helps with disaster aid as well as helping soldiers communicate with their families when they are stationed away from home. I am proud of the support that the FCCU employees in all our branches gave during the fundraising event as well as our members who supported us.”
