ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — University of Minnesota president emeritus Robert Bruininks has been appointed interim president of the Bush Foundation.
Board chairman Jan Malcolm says Bruinicks is a leading advocate for accountability and reform in higher education and is a strong voice for collaboration between the public and private sectors.
The former president of the Bush Foundation, Peter Hutchinson, stepped down in January.
The foundation was established in 1953 by 3M executive Archibald Bush and his wife, Edyth. It works in communities across Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and the 23 American Indian nations that share the same geographical area. It's the fourth-largest private foundation in Minnesota with strong philanthropic funding in South Dakota and North Dakota.
