Pops concert and taco feed at JHS
The Jamestown High School Choir will present its annual Pops Concert and Taco Feed on Monday. Special guests include the Middle School Pops Choir and the JHS Jazz Band.
The Jamestown High School Choir will present its annual Pops Concert and Taco Feed on Monday. Special guests include the Middle School Pops Choir and the JHS Jazz Band.
The Taco Feed begins at 5 p.m. in the JHS Commons. Tickets are available for $8 for an individual and $25 for a family at the door or from JHS Choir students. Proceeds will assist the choir on its trip to New York City in July.
The JHS Jazz Band and other ensemble music will perform throughout the Taco Feed. The Pops Concert begins at 7 p.m. in the JHS Theater.
Groups performing in the concert include JHS Choir, Blue Jazz (vocal jazz), JHS Show Choir, JHS Men’s Ensemble and the Jamestown Middle School Choir. Repertoire varies from gospel, jazz and pop to rock music. Some selections include a medley from “Sister Act,” Billy Joel’s “For the Longest Time,” Sting’s “Fields of Gold,” Van Halen’s “Jump,” Van Morrison’s “Brown Eyed Girl,” “Theme from New York, New York,” “King of Anything,” “Hey, Soul Sister.” “When Will I Be Loved.” Elton John’s “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart” and the Middle School Choir singing “Don’t Stop Believin.’”
