The Rebels of Pingree-Buchanan-Kensal kept their season rolling on Monday night at the Region 3 Girls’ Basketball Tournament in Napoleon.

Fresh off winning the District 5 championship in Jamestown, P-B-K retained that momentum with a nail-biting 54-53 quarterfinal victory over the Kidder County Pirates.

Just like during the districts, the Rebels got contributions from nearly everyone, led by junior Amanda Beckley’s 12 points and 10 rebounds and senior Kelly Carlson’s 11 points and seven assists.

Kidder County led 22-19 at the half, but the Rebels outscored the Pirates 15-7 in the third to lead 34-29 to start the fourth and held on from there. Both teams committed 23 turnovers in the game, but P-B-K outscored the Pirates 21-11 off those turnovers while shooting 44 percent (23 of 52) from the floor.

The Pirates were led by Morgan Rohrich with 19 points and Sadie Rohrich with 16. Kidder County, who defeated P-B-K 65-52 on Jan. 9, ended its season at 13-10 overall.

P-B-K (13-10) moves on to face Napoleon in today’s semifinals at 6 p.m. The Imperials defeated Barnes County North 70-37 in the second quarterfinal game on Monday.
