Area Boy Scouts will be going door-to-door for the Scouting for Food Drive later this month.
The Scouts will be distributing Scouting for Food door hangers beginning on March 17 and will return to the same area and collect the donated food on March 24.
The 24th annual Scouting for Food Drive is Scouting’s community stewardship project aimed at addressing the problem of hunger.
“It is up to the people of our community to make Scouting for Food a success and help our local food pantries feed those in need,” said Scout Executive Mark Holtz. In 2011, the Northern Lights Council’s Scouting for Food drive collected more than 90,000 pounds of food across its territory.
Food items can also be dropped off at any Gate City Bank location from March 17 to March 31.
For more information on the Scouting for Food drive, contact the local Boy Scout office at 701-740-6896.
The Northern Lights Council serves the entire state of North Dakota, 18 counties in northwest Minnesota and two counties each in South Dakota and Montana. The Northern Lights Council is a United Way Agency.
