No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle collision that caused about $650,000 in damage Thursday, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
The accident happened at about 7:25 a.m. on Interstate 94, seven miles west of Valley City.
Darren McKibben, 41, of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, was driving a 2011 International semi, hauling a 12- foot, 6-inch-wide John Deere ag sprayer.
Aleksey Demko, 33, of Spokane, Wash., and Stepan Kopets, 40, of Spokane Valley, Wash., were in the sleeper berth of a 2003 Sterling semi auto transport, which was disabled due to a flat tire, on the westbound shoulder of I-94.
McKibben adjusted his outside rear view mirror due to the glare from the sun, and the right side of the sprayer being hauled struck the side of the parked trailer, the patrol said.
The sprayer sustained $250,000 in extensive damage. The parked semi, trailer and vehicles being hauled sustained approximately $400,000 in damage.
McKibben was cited for care required.
