MINOT (AP) — Minot officials are reviewing an ordinance that would grant the city’s mayor broad powers in an emergency.
The Minot Daily News reported that the city voted to have staff give more study to the proposed ordinance, patterned after one adopted by Grand Forks after its 1997 flood.
The ordinance is designed to address situations in which a disaster or emergency occurs with little warning and quick response is necessary.
