NDSU instructor to lead students to Transylvania

An assistant professor at North Dakota State University wants students to think about more than vampires when they hear Transylvania.

FARGO, N.D. (AP) — An assistant professor at North Dakota State University wants students to think about more than vampires when they hear Transylvania.

Transylvania native Florin Salajan (SAWL’-uh-zhawn) is leading a two-week study abroad program to his homeland this summer. The program is branded “Transylvania Beyond Dracula.”

Transylvania is a region in central Romania. Salajan's program will explore its society, history, culture and education. A Romanian university will host students during the program May 26-June 10.
