Bantam B tops beats Langdon

The Jamestown-Valley City Prowl Bantam B hockey team went 1-2 at the Bantam B tournament in Hazen.

The Jamestown-Valley City Prowl Bantam B hockey team went 1-2 at the Bantam B tournament in Hazen.

After losing their opener to the May-Port Ice Dawgs 7-4, the Prowl rebounded with a 4-3 win over the Langdon Blades as Jared Schultz scored twice and Nate Soulis and Kade Young lit the lamp once. Alex Gums, Danny Reimers and Chris Hare earned assists. Alex Schauer had 16 saves.

In their opening game, Connor Grosgebauer had a pair of goals. Kelton Beedy and Jaryn Stading also scored. Schauer had 31 saves and then 23 in the fifth-place game against West Fargo White (2-0).

In the skills competition, Schauer placed first in the goalie competition; Schultz was first in the shootout competition; Grosgebauer placed second in the accuracy competition; Beedy and Stading tied for third in the speed skating competition.

The team was coached by Danny Kunz and Jacob Meierhofer.
